I Don't Wanna Get Up!
02:51
|

I don't wanna get up!
Don't make me do it
I don't wanna go to work today
I'd rather sit around and play on my guitar
Sittin' in the sun
Maybe write a little song
How you and I belong
In bed lying next to you
I doze and you do to
I don't wanna get up!
Alarm's going' nuts
Throw it right across the room
I got some better things to do instead
I'm gonna stay right here in bed
With my better half
She's kinda breathin' slow
I wanna steal this day
And hope it never goes away
All my love I give to you
Hold me close like you used to do
I don't wanna get up!

Suitcase Love
04:27

I kept hoping that things would change
A perfect routine becomes mundane
Thought I was livin’ the sporting life
Turned out to be a switchblade knife
So I packin’ up some of my self respect
It was still intact the last time I checked
My heart didn’t notice the warning flags
Misguided hope’s not pack’d in my bags
I won’t be needin’ this guilt trip though
It’s time for me to let that go
When push comes to shove - Suitcase love
Most of my honesty went in next
And I’ll need some happiness I should expect
I know I’ll keep the boys in the band
This old guitar and a few dollars on hand
I won’t be needin’ this guilt trip though
It’s time for me to let that go
When push comes to shove - Suitcase love
I’ll gather some memories and photographs too
And I’ll miss those conversations we’d get into
But I won’t moan - no I won’t cry
It’s just I’m just not very good at sayin’ goodbye
I won’t be needin’ this guilt trip though
It’s time for me to let that go
When push comes to shove
When push comes to shove - Suitcase love

Berkeley Blues

In the north of town in the Gourmet Ghetto
There’s a guy on the corner he’s singin’ falsetto
See the trollop on foot in cruel stilettos
Now tell me old friend, you got the news?
Hangin’ on Shattuck with the Berkeley Blues
Got a monster lookin’ for a job no luck
Just tryin’ to find a way to make a buck
Steppin’ over a guy drinkin’ two buck chuck
Tell me old friend, have you paid yer dues?
Positively 4th Street with the Berkeley Blues
In a hundred cafes in this college town
The jaded idealists mound the grounds
Competing with each other to be more profound
Tell me old friend, do you know who's who?
Dogwalkin' up Cedar with the Berkeley Blues
----1 verse lead break-----
There are those who leave after graduation
And those that stay behind in anticipation
Of the idealistic next generation
Now tell me old friend, do you need new shoes?
To loiter on Oxford with the Berkeley Blues
They tell me everything in Berkeley is biodegradable
Street corner evangelists tryin' to be persuadable
They suck environmental politics through an Ethernet cable
Tell me old friend, do you share my views?
I'm at the Freight and Salvage with the Berkeley Blues
Some folks go left and some folks go right
Some folks stay in the middle and argue all night
Grey-haired hippies in bohemian paradise
Tell me old friend, ain't got much to lose?
Chillin' at the Cheese Board with the Berkeley Blues

Better Than Ted
03:20
|
|||
When it comes down to it I’m an ordinary guy
Like everyone else I'm scraping by
And I can’t figure out how the rumor was spread
Apparently I'm better than Ted
Sometimes I can be a little obsessive,
Impressive, possessive, and even excessive
And I don't want to get a really big head,
Apparently I'm better than Ted
I'm better than Ted Yes, that's what I said
I might be better off dead I'm better than Ted
I can be stupid in love and money
I crack myself up, but it's not that funny
And I heard some folks up north are seeing red
‘cuz apparently I'm better than Ted
Sometimes we're kind of predisposed
Sometimes love just comes goes
So if you please I'll plow ahead
Apparently I'm better than Ted
I'm better than Ted
Might be better unsaid
It could be all in my head
But, I'm better than Ted
You can't help being who you are
Just a random dude or superstar
Sourdough or whole wheat bread
Apparently I'm better than Ted
I'm better than Ted
Might be better unsaid
Maybe I’ll just go to bed
But, I'm better than Ted
